About Jeanine Figueiredo, radically compassionate grief care coordinator

I’m Jeanine, the Grief Care and Education Coordinator at Voyager Counseling—and a bridge to grief support for the women we serve. I grew up in a home full of feminine energy with three sisters and a strong, soulful mother—and now I’m raising two daughters of my own. That lifelong closeness to the inner lives of women drives my passion for making sure no one has to navigate grief alone. I believe grief deserves space, community matters, and healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

I’m also a homeschooling mom, and through co-running homeschool co-ops, I’ve witnessed the undeniable power of community and support. I’ve learned firsthand that having people who truly understand the season of life you're in isn’t just helpful—it’s indispensable. That same truth carries into grief work, where connection and understanding make all the difference.

Grief shows up in many forms—loss of a loved one, identity shifts, transitions we didn’t choose—and as women, we often carry these experiences quietly, instinctively. My role is to help women access the care, connection, and resources they need to move through it with support, not isolation.

In this work, I’ve come to believe that who you walk alongside matters just as much as the path itself. That’s why one of the greatest gifts of my role has been the opportunity to partner with Olga Montgomery. Her presence is both grounding and inspiring—she leads with heart, deep wisdom, and the kind of clarity that only comes from walking through the hard things herself. It’s not only an honor to learn from her, but a genuine joy to be in this work together—supporting women through loss, healing, and transformation.

When I’m not helping other women, I’m fueled by philosophical conversation, a love of books, and a fascination with the healing power of plants and the cyclical lessons they teach—how things bloom, fall apart, and begin again. For me, this work isn’t just professional, it’s purposeful. It’s about honoring the whole story—grief, growth, and everything in between.
