Join in community with women in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s who want to connect through the challenges of navigating post-treatment life after a cancer diagnosis. Life isn’t over, but it isn’t what it was, and grieving the loss of normal, the loss of feeling safe in the world, and the addition of cancer-related stress is a lot! This group cultivates space specifically for women in their 20’s, 30’s, & 40’s who want to honor the challenges of their experience and the true grief of losing pre-cancer “normalcy”, while moving intentionally towards self-compassion and presence with who and what they love each day.
This is a 6 week in-person therapy group focused on connecting in community with other women learning how to practice excellent, self-compassionate self-care and find balance in the midst of post-treatment inner and outer stressors. This grief group will help you to comprehend and hold compassion for the complexity of what’s going on with your feelings about ringing the bell but somehow not feeling whole again, in community of others who understand, in a time when many women feel deeply isolated and alone. This is a group made for ongoing connection and empowering information that improves your wellbeing. This is a space to turn your attention to your own experience in a whole-person way to support your wellbeing so you can both grieve the challenging losses and changes of cancer diagnosis and treatment, while valuing and prioritizing connection and meaning each day. Join us to include yourself in your own compassion and your own care.
In this women’s grief group, we learn about, process, and practice skills related to:
Grief & grieving basics, which many of us did not learn and aren’t sure how to apply to ourselves in the context of not-death-not-bereavement losses of cancer diagnosis and treatment
Coping with complex, existential stressors (like recurrence anxiety and mortality anxiety) that get us stuck
Grieving as a healthy emotional process of honoring the love in the loss of normal, strategies for balancing living forward & honoring your loves & life in the here-and-now
Finding presence in the midst of stress and connecting into support that actually feels supportive
Building a solid self-compassion practice which spans the range from soft care to fiery protection
Whether your summer was chaos with kids, or a swirl of online stress, or something about it disconnected you from you—this is a soft landing, a deep inhale deep exhale, to help you connect with you now. Not when it’s convenient for the agenda (that time doesn’t come)… not when it’s convenient for others (that time REALLY doesn’t come)… but to open your eyes and heart in community and with yourself as the birds are singing, the leaves are vibrant, when your heart and gut is ready to say: “I’m doing this for me. ALL of me.”
