Your grief is yours alone, and,

you don’t have to be alone in your grief.

The heart-hurt and inner chaos of grief can feel like it is breaking down your whole world—who you were, who you are, how you interact with others, and what’s possible or expectable in life. Group therapy at Voyager Counseling offers a radically compassionate, supportive space designed to help you navigate your grief with purpose, understanding connection, and self-caring steps forward.

Over 8 weeks, you’ll join a small group of women who share either similar experiences of loss or similar experiences in the grieving process. You are each different people and our group space intentionally honors difference and similarity of grief experience and lived experience beyond grief. As a group and as individuals, you’ll explore topics that resonate, like challenges to your identity, coping with negative social feedback, and handling grief triggers. With the guidance of a licensed therapist with deep grief counseling experience, you’ll process your emotions, connect deeply with others who understand, and learn practical strategies to nurture you as you grieve.

This group is more than peer support. Peer support is wonderful, we recommend it, and we offer it! Group therapy is different—not better, not worse. By taking some of your precious time and participating in group therapy, you receive a committed place to attend to your grief and your needs as a griever, to be held in compassion as you learn and practice therapeutic skills that support you as a whole person in and through grief. We hope you will leave with a stronger sense of clarity, functional and practical tools that you carry within yourself, and an improved ability to face this world changed by loss in ways that align with who you are and what matters most to you. You don’t have to do this alone—here, you’ll find understanding connection and purposeful inner work in the company of others seeking the same.

Step Three: Participate in Group.

Each 8-week group meets weekly for 1 hour 15 minutes in a small, warm setting of up to eight women. Each week, you’ll explore topics curated to the shared experience of grief and loss that group members share, with space for connection and skill building in each session.

Sessions combine expert-led discussion, space to process emotions, and opportunities to connect with others who understand. Between-session practice will help you apply what you learn to your daily life, building your inner strength and capacity during and beyond group.

By the end of group, you’ll have gained clarity, skills for all aspects of your whole-person grief, and a deeper connection to yourself and others.
