This peer consult group supports mental health clinicians seeking specificity, support, and space to process professional encounters with grief and loss as well as authentic self-practice space focusing on professional practice while grieving.

Virtual Professional Peer Consult: Grief & Loss Focus

This monthly consultation group provides a supportive, nonjudgmental environment for mental health professionals from any work environment as well as post-masters trainees to support one another, share suggestion and resources for the experience of companioning others through grief. This consultation group specifically focuses on authentic self-practice and clinician self-reflection, which can be seen through the lens of “My Mountain, Your Mountain” therapeutic relationship, through the lens of “practicing personally what we practice professionally”, or through the lens of “transference & countertransference”.

Who Can Attend?

  • Social workers

  • Counselors

  • Psychologists

  • Prescribing providers & other behavioral/mental health professionals

  • HR & workplace wellness staff

  • Post-masters trainees in counseling, social work, psychology, or related fields

Anyone whose work brings them into contact with grief and loss is welcome.

What to Expect

  • Collaborative peer consultation on cases and challenges, with special focus on clinician self-reflection and authentic self-practice

  • Resource referrals useful for both clients and clinicians

  • Radically compassionate space to share, reflect, and learn from one another

  • No pressure to present — listening and learning are welcome forms of participation

Facilitator

Olga Montgomery, LCSW — Radically compassionate women’s grief therapist and founder of Voyager Counseling. Olga specializes in ACT & process-based contextual behavioral approaches to grief care with a deeply compassionate & depathologized flavor. She brings meaningful grief intervention grounded in lived experience and bolstered with committed training to supporting both clients and professionals in navigating loss.
