Family Therapy

All hands on deck,
face true north together

Family grief therapy provides in-person, compassionate, focused time for you and your family to reorient and reconnect after a life-altering loss. At Voyager Counseling, Olga Montgomery, LCSW offers evidenced, expert family therapy which helps families of all sizes navigate the acute stressors of loss, identify and communicate grief pain and relational needs of family members of all ages, and build the whole-home action and communication skills to help your family to grieve well and make courageous, intentional, love-forward choices each day of this mortal, imperfect, human life, together.

Through family therapy, which is often intentionally more topic-specific and shorter in duration than individual therapy, you and your family (adults and children) will explore how your shared history and personal experiences are shaping your family’s current struggles while grieving, identify shared family values and cultivating the habits and skills in your home to mutually connect and support in and through grief pain.

When grief breaks us open, we can get lost. What was expected, the rhythm of the day, feels chaotic. Family therapy can support your family to find words for your core values and lean into what’s unbreakable at core. Each family member, of all age and ability, can contribute to witnessing the light glimmering between the cracks and building something that matters from the pieces.

Relationship is a crucible of our personal life’s voyage, in vulnerable and authentic connection with another.

When we choose a life with deep love, we open ourselves to deep loss.

Build the skills to navigate deep love, deep loss, and mortal life together.
